do i need a compressor for my vacuum pump?
do i need a compressor for my vacuum pump? i am building a vacuum forming machine. i have seen that some vacuums come with a compressor. do i need both or whatSubmitted: 2051 days ago
Mine works off of compressed air.
Hook it up to the ac unit.
Attach the air hose to it, and it'll pull a system down to minus 10.
Minus 29 is supposed to be absolute vacumn if I remember right, so that's pretty good for a 15 dollar vacumn pump out of Harbor Frieght Catalog.
vacuum pumps come both ways if you need alot of vacuum go with a unit that has a at least a 5 gallon tank this will help as your only going to be able to pull a max.of 28 psi of vacuum even with a brand new unit the smaller units will work as well just plumb it to a tank to store your vacuum pressure it will help when you apply vacuum to your forming machine
